V Beam Perfecta at Premier
At Premier Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery, we routinely reduce the appearance of diffuse skin redness, visible vessels and poikiloderma with laser therapy.
- Facial redness and visible veins are common cosmetic issues for men and women alike. These symptoms can occur due to rosacea, sun damage, or the normal aging process. Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that requires periodic treatments to keep symptoms in check, and we offer a variety of topical treatments that can reduce the appearance of rosacea. Vessels that appear for other reasons can often be treated effectively in a single procedure or series of treatment sessions. Regardless of the cause of the redness or facial veins, the discoloration typically responds very well to laser therapy. Vbeam Perfecta is a pulsed dye laser that offers superior results when treating visible facial veins and vascular lesions.
- Angiomas appear as raised red bumps. They are growths of blood vessels also known as cherry spots.
- Poikiloderma is a variation of sun damage that commonly occurs on the neck and chest and appears as multiple blood vessels with surrounding redness. To lighten this lesion, the V-Beam or pulsed dye laser can be used. It often results in bruising which can last up to several days and requires multiple treatments.
Pulse Dye Laser offers a dramatic improvement in the treatment of blood vessels with the ability to target the blood inside the vein without affecting the surrounding skin and tissue. Post-treatment bruising and crusting are uncommon after this treatment, making the device particularly safe for treating vascular concerns.
Our V Beam offers additional protection and comfort during the treatment with its patented Dynamic Cooling Device that delivers cold bursts of cryogen before the pulse is delivered. This laser is safe for all skin types.
This treatment is not painful, and some people have compared it to feeling like a mild sunburn. You may experience some redness following the procedure. The redness will fade in a few hours. Occasionally a large bruise called purpura may occur. The bruise usually disappears within three to five days. The results are dependent on several factors, including the condition being treated and your lifestyle. If you continue to spend time in the sun without protection, there is a high chance of your treated sun spots returning. We strongly recommend avoiding sun exposure before and throughout this type of treatment.
