Which Restylane Treatment is Right For Me?

Restylane is a type of dermal filler that is used to add volume and fullness back in to the skin. It uses hyaluronic acid to lift, tighten, and smooth the skin, getting rid of fine lines and wrinkles. Here at Premier Dermatology, we have three types that we offer: Restylane, Restylane Lyft and Restylane Silk. All of these treatments are FDA approved dermal fillers that have specific treatment areas.

Restylane

Restylane is most commonly used to treat laugh lines and marionette lines. It uses hyaluronic acid, which is a sugar that is found naturally in the body. This sugar works with the collagen in your skin, giving you smooth results. It can also be injected to the lips of patients older than 21 to add volume and shape. It is a mid to deep injection in the facial tissue, used to correct moderate to severe wrinkles and folds.

Restylane Lyft

Restylane Lyft can be used to treat deep facial lines and wrinkles, but can also be used to treat the cheeks and chin. It uses purified hyaluronic acid which is hypoallergenic, meaning it does not require a pre-treatment skin test. The Restylane Lyft is able to bind to water, so it is able to perform 60% longer than collagen alone.

Restylane Silk

Restylane Silk is specifically designed for the lips and the skin around the mouth. It is used smooth the wrinkles around the mouth, and give the lips a slightly fuller, more plump look. Filler in this area does not last as long as other areas since it tends to break down faster because there is so much facial movement.

With all of these treatments, results can be seen right away. Some patients may experience swelling after treatment, but it only lasts a day or two. It is recommended that these treatments are not done the day of a special event. Give yourself a few days to fully recover. The results are meant to last for at least six months, but results vary from patient to patient. To learn more about these procedures, visit us online to schedule a consultation.
