Daniella Benson, a board-certified Physician Assistant who grew up Long Island, NY, graduated from the University of Delaware in 2000, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She then attended Philadelphia University Physician Assistant Program, earning her Master of Science degree in 2002. She has a strong surgical background, formerly working in General and surgical sub-specialties at both Christiana and St. Francis Hospital here in Delaware. She also spent several years working with a Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon, as well as an Otolaryngology (ENT) /Facial Plastics group in Pennsylvania before joining us in 2014.
She has had extensive experience in surgery and plastics/cosmetics closures, as well as diagnosing and treating skin cancers. She worked in conjunction Dr. Christopher Conti to treat patients with cancerous and precancerous lesions for several years, but now works exclusively out of our Middletown office, with Dr. Lori Spencer. She has extended her practice to include General Dermatology and treating conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema/atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, cysts and many other dermatological conditions. She has a particular interest in eczema, given her allergy background, and truly enjoys helping teens and adults with acne and rosacea. She also continues to perform meticulous full body skin exams, skin cancer screenings and skin cancer surgeries and procedures.
Daniella is board- certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is currently Co-Chair of the State of Delaware Physician Assistant Regulatory Council, and former Chair of Legislative Affairs and served on the Board of Directors for the Delaware Academy of Physician Assistants for 8 years. She enjoys teaching PA students, community service with Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, and is also a volunteer member of the Delaware Medical Reserve Corp to help in area disaster relief. She lives here in Delaware with her husband and twin daughters and enjoys reading, exercising, and outdoor activities.
