V-Beam is a pulsed dye laser that safely and effectively treats discolorations including rosacea, surface and visible capillaries, and vascular abnormalities. These can include poikiloderma, sun spots, age spots, freckles, port wine stains, and facial/leg veins. The pulse dye lasers (PDL) deliver intense but gentle bursts of light into targeted areas. It is then absorbed by the blood vessels and pigmented skin to safely treat the condition. The best part about V-Beam treatments is that the laser is safe for all skin types.
Most patients experience a warm and tingling/rubber band snap sensation during the treatment. Patients do not require numbing gel for this particular procedure. The treatment is not painful and has been compared to feeling like a mild sunburn. You may experience some redness following the treatment, but this is significantly minimized with the use of the DCD (dynamic cooling device). The redness will fade in a few hours.
The results are dependent on several factors including the condition being treated and your lifestyle. If you continue to spend time in the sun without protection, there is a high chance of your treated sun-spots returning.
